Kicking the New Knowledge: Hip Hop Culture and the Classroom
Wednesday, April 24 – 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Beyond music, Hip Hop culture intersects with academic disciplines of gender studies, critical race theory, communication and rhetoric studies, psychology, sociology, anthropology, ethnomusicology, popular culture studies, and religious studies.
In conjunction with COD’s first annual Hip Hop Summit, the Faculty Professional Development Program is proud to present a panel of faculty from across academic divisions coming together to discuss hip hop through a lens of teaching, learning, pedagogy and praxis.
The event is open to the public – bring your students, invite your neighbors, and join us for this brief, unique discussion of the place where hip hop culture meets academic culture.
