The Advanced Course offered by COD’s Adjunct Faculty Training Institute is designed to support faculty in transforming students from passive listeners to active learners while improving learning outcomes and deepening understanding. Leave the session with strategies and techniques that can be used in your face-to-face, hybrid and online courses.
The six-week cohort, delivered in a live-online format, offers flexibility while building community:
- Participate in live, online lessons with your instructor and peers.
- Focus on approaches for integrating and sharing learner-centered strategies in the classroom.
- Explore theories and principles of learner-centered teaching that survey respondents identified as most critical for teaching excellence.
- Complete the course with a portfolio of artifacts that will include a redesigned course map, syllabus, and lesson plans incorporating both learner-centered and metacognitive strategies.
Scholarship funds are available to those who are eligible. Please contact CE@cod.edu or (630) 942-2208 for more information or to register.
